About ZX Spectrum UDGs

A standard ZX Spectrum User Defined Graphic is an 8 × 8 pixel graphic stored as eight bytes. Each bit in a byte represents one pixel in a row of the graphic.

The UDG character set provides 21 characters, from UDG A through UDG U in the 48K Spectrum. On the 128K Spectrum, UDG T and U are unavailable for normal UDG use.

Larger graphics can be constructed by combining several 8 × 8 UDGs.
