This website has been set up by myself to provide a historical reference for the popular 1980's micro computer, The Sinclair ZX Spectrum Computer.
The information provided within in non-exhaustive and is subject to change as articles are added and corrected as required.
Overall I hope to create a reference guide for the ZX Spectrum containing infromation on, but not limited to:
a) The orginal ZX Spectrum 16k/48k system
b) Software for the above computer (I will avoid reviewing games as there are already a lot of websites on internet that cover this subject)
c) Peripherals such as joystick interfaces, keyboards, printer interfaces etc.
d) The ZX Spectrum+ and ZX Spectrum+ 128K
e) International Versions: Timex Sinclair, Investronica Spectrum, Timex Computer, dB
g) Amstrad versions: +2, +3, +2A & +2B
h) a timeline of the ZX Spectrum
i) Booklist of the ZX Spectrum
j) Programming tips and techniques
What is not included? Games, with a few exceptions (see above for explanation) Generic peripherals for example, dot-matrix printers or joysticks which could be used on any computer at the time. Exceptions would be a peripheral which was orginally made for any computer but was marketed to favour the ZX Spectrum, or one which was made for any computer but has particular significance to the ZX Spectrum (Competition Pro joystick for example).
About this site
I have tried to create a website which is accessible to all. Each page is coded by hand and run through HTML and CSS validators. 'alt' tags are used and I have used a dark high contrast colour scheme with a black/teal background and yellow/white 'ink' colours.
